OPEN TO WOMEN-IDENTIFIED WRITERS
Taxes for Writers (whether freelance or not), with Shannon O'Leary.
Please join us for our March meeting! Shannon O'Leary will give us an overview of how to get the best tax advantages as a writer. Whether you’re just starting out, a full time writer, or if you’re navigating large contract payouts, this discussion is for you!
Some of the topics we’ll cover include:
- Deductions! What counts, and what could count against you.
- Preparer or DIY? Whether working with a professional or doing it yourself, we’ll go over the best way to prepare your records so you can file in compliance with federal and state agencies.
- The new tax law! The entire accounting industry is still trying to understand it! But Shannon will try to answer any questions and hopefully clarify some common misconceptions about it :)
Shannon O'Leary is a Certified Tax Preparer and bookkeeper with The Library Bookkeeping Inc., a boutique Downtown Los Angeles accounting firm that specializes in the needs of freelancer and small business taxes.
