Please join us for our May SGVWW Meeting: Amy Foell teaches us all about Screenwriting!

Do you have a story to tell that would make an awesome movie or series? Have you been curious about screenwriting? This crash course with Amy Foell will get you started. Amy will explain the basics of writing a screenplay, including best practices such as a outlining, creating character bibles, and registering your script with the Writer’s guild. She's also happy to answer all your burning screenplay-writing questions. Feel free to post questions in advance!

Amy Foell got her start writing, directing and producing sketch comedy shows in Baltimore, Maryland. She studied at Second City in Chicago and dabbled in improv and stand-up comedy. Amy wrote her first screenplay in 2006 after taking a class at San Francisco City College. She promptly moved to Los Angeles with the dream of working in a writers room for television or new media. Her portfolio includes original pilots (live action and animation); features include rom-com, dark comedy and slapstick action. In 2012, Amy completed a television writing certificate with UCLA's extension program. She freelanced for a few of years and is now focusing on strategic writing projects to truly launch her screenwriting career. For more info check out Amy's IMDB pagehttps://m.imdb.com/name/nm6191586/

SGVWW meets monthly, usually on the third Saturdays, to network and learn about a different topic related to writing and publishing. Please join us for our April Meeting. Come early so you can get breakfast before starting time, and RSVP here so we can save you a seat.
