Framing and Plotting Your Novel with Stacey Donovan

A COMMUNITY OF WOMEN-IDENTIFIED AND GENDER NON-BINARY WRITERS

Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/426784401196848/

We hope you join us on Saturday morning, April 13, at 10 a.m., for our monthly San Gabriel Valley Women Writers meeting--especially if you want to write a novel or try NaNoWriMo this year! We're excited to welcome Stacey Donovan, who will teach us about Framing and Plotting Your Novel!

NOTE: This monthly meeting is earlier than usual, on the second Saturday, so as not to conflict with Passover or Easter.

Having a clear concept and a road map for a novel can help the writing go faster and keep you from getting lost along the way. This session will cover ways to create an inspiring vision for your project, including knowing the genre, choosing a working title, and writing a one- to two-sentence logline. We’ll also go over a few different methods of plotting, from loose to detailed, so you can choose the one that works best for you!

Stacey Donovan is the author of four published novels, one under her own name and three under Bryn Donovan. At her day job, she heads up Hallmark Publishing, the books division of the Hallmark channels. She has an MFA in creative writing, and she blogs about writing and positivity atbryndonovan.com.

SGVWW meets monthly, usually on the third Saturdays, to network and learn about a different topic related to writing and publishing. Please come early so you can get breakfast before starting time, and RSVP here so we can save you a seat.

See you on April 13!

San Gabriel Valley Women Writers (SGVWW) is a supportive and knowledgable community of women-identified and gender non-binary writers focused on helping each other further our writing goals. We meet in-person monthly, usually on the third Saturdays, to network and learn about a different topic related to writing and publishing. Our monthly talks are hosted by a variety of professionals and cover everything from tax laws to building a writer's website, from finding an agent and pitching publications to creating compelling characters and writing strong dialogue. Writers of all types are welcome: journalists, fiction and non-fiction authors, novelists, poets, bloggers, professional and amateur, etc. We also meet online in our Facebook group.
