MEET & GREET/BOOKSIGNING WITH THE AUTHOR
Dr. Antoinette Corley-Newman, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist who believes that an active imagination improves one’s mental health. Her first book, Trick or Treat: The Story of How the Switch Witch Came To Be, was inspired by this belief. A portion of its sales will go to gracegives.org, an organization that supports local and national charities.
Dr. Corley-Newman’s children’s book (for ages up to 12) takes the reader on a magical journey of imagination and self-discovery. She prides herself on creating books that speak to an individual’s complete mind, body, and soul.
Dr. Corley-Newman has created a mystical and adorable book that centers around Abigail, a precocious witch, and her Harvest Festival adventures. Abigail and her Transylvania friends enjoy dressing up and participating in the Harvest Festival activities in the hopes of winning mortal treats. Through Abigail you learn the history and importance of the Harvest Festival and why it means so much to her. The story focuses on family and traditions and how Abigail discovers who she really is.
Dr. Corley-Newman is a clinical psychologist and author, but she is a mother first. Her ideals have trickled over to her children who used their imaginations to create an amazing philanthropic support organization called gracegives.org organization.
The organization started when her three children decided to assemble and hand out care packages to the homeless in their community. It promotes itself as a community of self-love and kindness that raises awareness for charities on both the local and global level. A portion of the proceeds from Trick or Treat: The Story of How the Switch Witch Came To Be will go to the gracegives.org organization.
