This book is based on the author’s real encounter with Brigitte, and explores themes of conservation and the bond between animals and humans. Chloe Spencer brought the character to life with her wonderful illustrations.
There are 113 species of lemurs. They are only found on the island of Madagascar and are considered the most endangered group of animals on the planet. Their primary threat is loss of habitat.
SIBYLLE WESTBROOK was born and raised in Germany. She holds a BA in Language Arts and worked as a freelance translator and interpreter for many years with assignments all over Europe. Since moving to California to marry her husband she has raised her family, taught German to young children, worked in Avantgarde fashion and pursued philanthropic interests. Her love of animals led her to travel to Madascar in 2019. The unexpected encounter with lemur Brigitte touched her so profoundly that she felt compelled to share her story.
Sibylle currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, children and two cats.
