Meteorologist Dallas Raines and his wife, Journalist Dannie Raines, have written this charming tale (illustrated by Brittany Doheny) for ages 5-12, featuring their beloved family pet, Chester. The book describes great adventures of Dallas and Chester and introduces meteorological, climatological and earth science themes. In their story, Chester and Dallas find themselves up in the sky in a hot air balloon. What could go wrong on such a pleasant day?

Dannie Raines has a journalism and communications degree from UCLA. She is tickled to be collaborating with her earth science, meteorology-loving husband, Dallas Raines, Chief Meteorologist of KABC. The couple is passionate about their mission to serve youth by exciting and educating readers about the earth sciences and our wacky weather. Dannie loves morphing her husband/nutty professor's weather tales into narratives of grand adventure and fun! They hope children will have as much fun reading as the couple did creating these tales of their family pet, Chester, the Pawsome Weather Pup!
